Application: Cable & Harness Testing

OmniTester has supplied equipment for testing cable and harness assemblies to contract manufacturers and OEM's for over 30 years. Products ranging from simple ribbon cables to mission-critical aircraft wiring harnesses have been tested on OmniTester equipment. OmniTester produces flexible platforms that address the testing requirements of the full spectrum of wired assemblies. The key is choosing the test platform that best fits your current and expected needs.

Cable assemblies that require continuity and low-voltage shorts testing and/or testing for the presence and correct value of diodes, resistors and capacitors can be tested on the Omni8300BT platform. The full PC controller provides statistics logging, easy program generation and editing, networking capability and excellent overall flexibility. The tester can be configured to accommodate an almost unlimited number of circuits.
Critical use cable assemblies such as those used in military or aerospace applications most often require high voltage leakage (insulation resistance) testing. The Omni2501 or Omni2511 are best suited to test these assemblies as their capabilities include high voltage insulation resistance testing up to 1500 volts DC with optional AC HiPot to 1000 volts. Additionally, these platforms provide Kelvin (4-wire) test capability for measurements as low as 100 microhms. The Omni2501 is available in configurations that accommodate from 50 to 2000 test points while the Omni2511 can accommodate up to 100,000 test points.

Finally, the Omni2530 is designed for applications that require high voltage isolation testing up to 2000 volts DC and/or AC HiPot testing up to 1500 volts AC. The Omni2530 offers the features and capabilities of the Omni2501 and Omni2511 systems with a switching matrix built for handling the demands of consistent testing at 2000 volts.
